A Tribute to Mommy - Fundraising

It's been a year since Mommy became one of heaven's strongest angels.

As most know, I (together with my sister, Manay Kring-Kring), are based here in Canada. Last November 2020, we weren't able to fly to Manila to be with family and loved ones in "the hardest of times in our lives" while in the middle of a pandemic. We clung on to whatever physical item we could find that came from Mom (be it a necklace, some photos, a greeting card, a Jollibee fridge magnet, a shirt, etc.). We sought comfort through the love shared by family and friends with the help of technology.

As we celebrate Mommy's anniversary of her entrance to heaven, I thought to have something here in Canada to commemorate her. Also, so we have somewhere to go on special days and an actual physical symbol to honour her. In Toronto, there's a program where we can request for a commemorative Tree ($738) or Bench ($2,530) to be named after a loved one lost.

So this is my ask.

I, Luzee, am opening this fundraiser to help me put in this request. This fundraiser (GoFundMe Link) will be open from November 18 (Mom's anniversary) until December 25. In case you want to donate, please do as every little bit helps. Also, since the Christmas season is fast approaching, in lieu of sending any gifts, cards, etc. to me (in case you were planning to), please help me reach this goal instead. If I reach the amount for the Tree value, I'll request for a tree (red maple to be exact, because Mom's red lipstick should be forever remembered). If funds raised are higher than the tree value, I will pay the balance and aim for requesting for a Bench (hopefully, gold-plated with her name because Mom's gold nails should be ever-present).

Once we reach December 25, I'll make the request. I have the form completed and just need to sign it and send a cheque. Crossing my fingers here. It takes about 3-6 months for the request to be processed. I'll be sure to update everyone who helps me out on the progress as well.

From the bottom of my heart, I Thank You in advance.
